Nancy's Story
Life
I left Lawton in 1973 after my husband, Bennie Wickens, was killed in an auto accident. I married Carl Gondolf In 1975 but later divorced in 1995. In 2001 I married James Cassell. (Jim is the man that I will spend the rest of my life with.)
I have two wonderful sons, Brent Christopher Wickens (born 1970, lives in Chicago with his wife, Sarah, and son, Benjamin, born 11/03) and Eric Augustus Gondolf (born 1977; died 2003). I have a lovely step-daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cassell (born 1978) and a lively step-son, David Matthew Cassell (born 1982). Beth and David live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I attended college in Sacramento, California where I earned a BachelorÂs degree in Nursing. Later, I attended the University of California, San Francisco where I earned a MasterÂs degree in Cardiovascular Nursing and a minor in education.

ahoma and California, I have also lived and worked in Maryland, New Mexico and Ohio. Internationally, I have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
I love to travel and walk this earth whenever I can. One memorable trip was in 1991 when I took an extended leave of absence from work and my two sons did distance learning while we toured the world for six months. Brent, Eric and I visited 22 countries and had the experience of a lifetime.
My husband, Jim, and I currently live and work in Skagway, Alaska. Living in a remote area certainly makes for an interesting life. Skagway doesnÂt have malls, McDonaldÂs, or movie theatres. Instead we have mail order and probably the best nature has to offer.
All-in-all I have a life filled with loving family and friends, a life to be thankful for. Yet I have not escaped the pain that loss brings. Such is life.
