Nancy Prahl:  

Life I was born and raised in Port Huron and was amongst the 1st graduating class of PHNHS. Married David Prahl, of St. Clair, 10/66 and am still very happily married to him almost 42 years later. Three kids: Chris 41 moved to Seattle 9/2004; Karen 36 lived in Anchorage until 11/2005 when she and her family moved to Florida (and shcoks the locals by wearing shorts and tank tops while they're all dressed in long pants and heavy coats) and Tammy passed away in 1971 at age 22 months. Six grandchildren -- 4 boys and 2 girls ranging from 3-1/2 to 16. Our oldest grandson, David, has lived with us since 1/2006. He's a great kid, but I sure forgot how much a teenage boy can eat! We moved to Alaska in 1982. Best move we ever made. Since moving to Alaska, I've worked for both the feds and state gov't, but am happily unemployed and staying home at our cabin (We built the cabin and all of our out-buildings by ourselves, no subcontactors or heavy equipment involved. We drew the plans. cleared the cabin site, dug the holes for the pilings, carried all of lumber in from the road, and built cabin by working weekends and other days we had off.) in the Talkeetna Mountains 12 miles outside of Willow.
