Nancy's Story
I left the nest in 1961 w/a friend and went to Phoenix. Met my husband down there and married in 1962. Moved to LA in '63; moved back to Phoenix in '65. He was transferred to OK in '66. We lived there for two years where our eldest son was born. He got transferred to DC in '68. We lived there for 15 long years. Youngest son born there. We finally got away from there but had to move back to CO in '83. Hubby died in '86. Met a widower in '87 and was with him until he committed suicide in '93. I could transfer, so I applied to the DOJ and worked in Denver from '95 to mid '97 when I got a transfer back to Phoenix. I was ready to grow old with my two Labs when I fell over a retired cop from New England. Married him in '02. We retired in '04 and moved to South Carolina. Big mistake. Too many 'gators and bugs, plus most of the people talk funny from New York. We finally decided to live in the Georgetown, TX area.
My eldest is a retired Marine of 20 years and lives in NC. I have three grandkids and hubby has two.
My youngest is an attorney in Denver.
