25th Reunion Bio--Summer 2008
Still living in the Boston-area and school starts the first week of September, so I can't attend our 25th reunion. I'm still fundraising for higher education and work at Tufts University directing the Parents Program. (Most Coloradoans are probably not familiar with Tufts, but we're ranked 28th in the country! We like to think of ourselves as the Boston-area school characterized by academics without pretense.) My twin daughters are 6 years old now and are really great. One is on the spectrum, but MA is really into helping special needs kids and she is flourishing. It is so fun to see the kids playing or riding bikes around the neighborhood with their friends. My husband and I are at that stage in life where there is time for family, work and church, but not much else. Right now a great day at the beach or a nature walk in the country with our dog are the special extra moments. Best wishes to everyone for a great reunion. And do contact me if you're in the Boston area for vacation or college tours.
20th Reunion Bio--Summer 2003
I pondered the question ÿWhat have you been up to lately?ÿ as I changed the diapers and washed the graham cracker-encrusted faces of my 10 month-old twin daughters. Simple answer: full-time motherhood. Macro-answer: LIFE CHANGE!!! Parenthood is more fun than my husband and I ever imagine...Expand for more
d and we're having a blast with our babies.
At the tenth reunion we were in the process of moving from Hawaii to Cambridge, Massachusetts. We have lived in the Boston-area for the last ten years and, after overcoming my culture shock, I have learned to love living in New England. Itÿs a great region to live in since we can hike, bike, ski and sea kayak away from the crowds. Local walks with our Rottweiler and hanging out in the yard with our two cats are also favorite weekend activities. I worked at the Harvard (College) development office for the last eight years, most recently as a fundraiser working with class committees on their annual fund and reunion fundraising. The alumni there are wonderful and I feel lucky to have worked with--and plied large sums of money from--so many terrific people.
We also feel lucky to have traveled to some places that are now too dangerous to visit: trekking to K2 in Pakistan and in the Annapurna region of Nepal, and touring historic sites in Central Asia. Weÿve also bicycled across the United States, visited Russia, kicked around Ireland and attended the Salt Lake Winter Olympics (as spectators, NOT athletes)--good memories to have now that visiting the grandparents is our only vacation itinerary for the next few years!
Since I don't run into many BHS classmates here in Boston I'd love to hear from people!
