Nancy's Story
After high school, Venice, I went to Santa Monica City College. I went to work for Jurgensons Grocery and there met my husband and bought a home a block from where I was raised. We had a daughter and she also went to Richland Ave. When Linda went to Richland my gal friend and I put out the school paper for a while and for a number of years made the snow cones at the annual festival. We were very active while our girls were there but we did miss Mr. Brubaker.
My husband and I bought the corner store known to all the neigborhood kids as "Quigleys" and just like when we were all kids and went in after school to...Expand for more
buy treats, the kids my daughters age still ran in for candies and a smile. Linda married and my husband and I retired to Kern river valley. We enjoyed fishing, the life at the lake and a close Masonic family, my husband died in 1995 and I went to work for the sheriffs department, a local photographer and a florist. This kept me super busy but not too busy to meet my second husband, a friend of many years and we were married in 1995. We have enjoyed traveling..Scotland, Canada and our wonderful USA...We have moved down to Bakersfield and live in a gated community with lots of new friends and many activities.
