Nancy's Story
Life
Married Winfield Samuelson in 1952. Spent 1953-1956 in Newport, R.I. 1956-1960 was a student wife at the U. of Ill. in Champaign, Il. 1960-1987 was a veterinary assistant to my husband. While helping in the animal hospital I returned to school and received a degree in Visual and Performing Arts at Northern Illinois University, year 1978. I did substitute teaching in the Elgin, Il. schools until 1987. In 1987 we moved to Charleston S. C. I still swim and am quite active in my church. From 1987 to 1994 I managed a children's camp on Lake Geneva.
My husband passed away in Septembe...Expand for more
r of 2006. I am the proud owner of two Boston Terrier, Lollie and Tula, who never leave my side.

Forgot to mention that I have three sons, Steven, Scott and Peter. In February of 2010 my son, Steve, was killed in a 50 car pile-up in Pennsylvania. He was the only fatality. He was also a veterinarian and was transporting a puppy to grandson, Jared, in Newport, R.I.. The dog made it. Steve was born in Newport and wanted to visit his place of birth, the house, coincidentally, has been put on the list of National Historical Places (not because of Steve).
