Nancy's Story
Life
I am currently attend the Habitation in West Knoxville under the wings of Abiding Glory Ministries. We currently meet at Florence Crittenton Agency on Dick Lonas Road, but will moving to a permanent location. I also attend World Harvesters Church in Caryville, TN.
I had a near traumatic car accident in Dec. '97 nine days before Christmas. I was paper thin close to death and Hell but God, so mercifully, raised me up and saved this poor wretched soul (both spiritually & physically!). For without HIS grace and mercy, I would not be here today to tell about HIS great love!!
Needless to say, I have been BLESSED tremendously.
I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
School
I have been blessed to have many teachers inspire me while in school. Ms. Emily Moore, who I had for Biology as an Anderson County High (ACHS) sophomore, was and is an inspiration to me. We, the students, were given the opportunity to teach part of the class. We learned that it is not easy to be a teacher and teach students well. Our class had the hardest test questions. I learned to speak up for myself. And now I want to be a teacher. Ms. Richardson, my fourth grade teacher at Rockford Elem., paid for a plane ticket that enabled me to go on a class field trip at Rockford from the McGhee Tyson Airport to an airport NC. She did this out of the kindness of her heart - something that gives me joy ...Expand for more
today. Mr. Joe Rutherford, my freshmen English teacher at Heritage High School, has also been a positive influence in my life. There are other teachers too, like Ms Usry, COE teacher at Anderson County Center of Occupation Dev. (that's the former name) also Ms. Usry has since past away; Ms. Wilma Curtis, an ACHS guidance counselor who remembered me years later when (one of) my best friends, Deborah Cook (she past away July 7, 2003 )& I visited her local church after a not so great time, Ms. Lori Houck, a Business and typing teacher at ACHS; and Mr. Gene Wright, a one of a kind former principal of ACHS who always greets his former students with a smile and kind, genuine words. Thank you all for all you that have sewn into my life. That goes for the one(s) I've not mentioned that are of a rare breed.
College
I attended Roane State Community College where I earned my Associate of Science degree in General Studies. I transferred to the Univ. of TN at Knoxville where I majored in Plant and Soil Science with a concentration in Environmental Science and Natural Resources. However, I did not get to complete that degree. Currently I am enrolled at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a major in Child and Family Studies.
Workplace
Currently I work at UT-Knoxville in the Police Department-Central Alarm System. I have also worked at the Department of Energy and as a student worker at UT as well.
