Nancy's Story
Married June 1, 1991 to Rob Jacobs (class of 89)
Two daughters, Blayne-age 13 (looks like me) and Eryn-age 10 (looks like Rob). Both are excellent students and are very creative.
I took classes at ICC to become an RN and quit to get married. I've stayed in the healthcare field ever since, working at Methodist Medical Center as a nurses' aide and then a hemodialysis technician, the Orthopedic Institute of Illinois as an MOA and surgery scheduler, John Deere Health (insurance) in customer service and then provider relations, and currently work for PersonalCare (another health insurance company) as a provider relations representative. On March 19, 2007, my divorce became final. The girls and I live in Pekin and they see Rob, who also lives in Pekin, frequently. It was a difficult decision to make (one that wasn't made lightly) however after a lot of prayer, I knew it was the right decision. Life hasn't been perfect since then (not that I expected it to be) but it certainly has been much more peaceful and calm--what I needed.
UPDATE: I met a wonderful man in the summer of 2007 and we were married on October 10, 2008. His name is Darryl Roots and he's from Pekin (class of 1984), where we still live. He and the girls get along great, they kid around and pick on each other all the time and just generally keep me half crazy, but it sure makes life fun!
