Nancy's Story
Life
I have been married for 41 years, to Ray Nettles, he graduated from Oxford High School 1965, we have lived in Glencoe Al for 41 years, he works at Goodyear. We have 2 children Mary is 40 years old and Donald is 37 years old. Mary is not married any more ,she has a son who is 9years old Dallyn, we call him "Dally B", Dallyn attends Glencoe Elem. School, he is in the 3rd grade. My son Donald is not married anymore either,he has 2 girls, Kelsi would be 16 years old the 1st of June,she was diagnosis with Acute Lympocytic Leukemia, B-cell,and she lost her battle on July 25 2009,but she is in a better place now and not in any pain, I know that we will see her very soon,I miss her so much, I cry for her everynite, she was my first grandchild and she and I were very close her sister Graci is 7years old,and in the first grade, they all live in Glencoe so we are real close to our kids and grands. I stay at home and rest, talk to some of my classmates on the phone , especially Sheila Sanders Dyson and Dona Jones Avery we get together and have lots of fun. Ray and Steve, Sheila husband went to school together, so we go places with them alot. I enjoy my children and grandkids they call me Nonnie, we have get togethers all the time with them. Should have had grandchildren first, can send them home. LOL, like to surf the web and play the slots on the internet, go the the NASCAR RACES, big Earnhardt Fan. Like to travel and have lots of fun.
Workplace
after 1 year of college, I took off to see if this is really what I wanted to do go to college, never went back, started working for Southern Bell (now South Central Bell) worked there about 2 and half years or more, went to work for Sunny King Ford, worked there for about 6months, got married and move to Gadsden, my husband Ray, go a job at Goodyear, so we move, so he wouldn't have to drive a long distance back and forth to work.
