Nancy's Story

Life I graduated 71st High School in 1967,as Nancy Williams. I worked in television in L.A. and in Washington, D.C. where I met great role models in the women's movement and went to law school in 1976. I graduated law school in 1980, passed the bar exam the first time (thank god), and opened a sole practice in Visalia, California in 1982. I practiced there until 1989, and started working for the Public Defender's Office in Fresno in 1990; I'm now retired. I loved being a criminal defense attorney: it's challenging, creative work and jury trials are great fun. not only was I able to speak up as an advocate for my clients, but I'm very effective. My husband, Marvin, was also a public defender. Marvin died in 2007 and I've moved to Battle Ground, Washington near his nephew. I never had children, but have plenty of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Because of Classmates, I was able to connect up with my old high school friend, Durae Havens. I look at other profiles of people I went to school with and feel a great deal of affection for you all. I'd really like to know about any reunions that are being planned. I DO NOT live in Hawaii. I can't seem to change that at the site.
