Nathan's Story

I was born July 23, 1988 in Durango, CO. I lived in Silverton until I was about 5 where I moved south 45 miles to Durango. I went to Needham Elementary where I had many friends. I was an active child, often riding bikes and stick-fighting in backyards which weren't ours. I am not close to any of them anymore, though I wish I was. After elementary I enrolled in Excel Charter School, a 6-12 grade program. During my 6th grade year, I was 12, I bought my first guitar. And shortly after I joined the school's music program, which was an "unconventional" steel pan program. I played lead guitar from 7th-10th grade. I was offered many opportunities to achive and excel with my music. I was held at high standards which I never lived up to, and I am now suffering those reprecutions. At the end of...Expand for more
my 10th grade year, I was given a scholorship for a 5 week guitar workshop at Berkely, School of Music in Boston, MA. I never went. By that point, I was so exausted and tired of being the "lead guitarist" that I decided to stay home and play in a band I was in. My solo abilities slowly faded away. When I left the band in early 2006, I put my guitar in its case and I havent picked it up since. But I still make music, mostly electronic. I find comfort in the music I create because it represents me and who I am. Most are instrumental but I dont need to "SAY" what Im feeling or what/who Im thinking about. During the week I work as a commercial driver with Phoenix Recycling, LLC. 5:30am-7:30pm at the very latest. I have a 14 hour driving limit, and I reach that often. I hate my job.
