Dr. Nathaniel's Story
Hello, everyone, 1966 has been a long while ago, 50 years. However, to me, it seems like just a few years ago. So much has transpired since graduating from O'Bannon High School. My life has taken so many different turns; I am not sure where to start. However, upon graduating from O'Bannon, I enrolled at Arkansas A&M College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. My time there was short spent. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I left, only to end up at Coahoma Community College, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Upon graduating from Coahoma, I joined the United States Army Medical Corps. After completing my tour of duty, I was honorably discharged. I begin my professional career in nursing at Veterans Administration Hospital Jefferson Barracks Division, Saint Louis, Missouri. Concurrently, I attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Illinois earning degrees in social work, counseling, and management and supervision. I relocated to Michigan continuing my education obtaining my doctorate in psychology.
My career would go in a different direction. I begin developing substance abuse programs to address substance abuse related issues. For the next fifteen years, my time was spent developing treatment programs that met state licensure requirements. Later, the Department of Defense would recruit and hire me to develop their drug prevention and education program. I would travel around...Expand for more
the world addressing substance abuse concerns and provide training and education to the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
After twenty years, May 2012, I retired from the Department of Defense. I had a great experience with no regrets. During all of this time, I managed to find some time to do what I enjoy most, writing! I published my first book "To Be Somebody" in 2007. In 2010, I published my second book "Recovery The Road Ahead." Later, I would write my third book "Captured Dreams Above and Beyond." It was released March 15, 2016. I have already started writing my fourth book. In addition to my writing, I found a little time to record my CD with my daughters. The title "Songs of Inspiration." It was one of my greatest experience to go into the studio and record with my daughters.
There is so much more been going on in my life but just wanted to bring you an update on some of the things going on with me.
I do hope you enjoy the update. Hit me up with an email and I will respond. As founder, President and Chief Executive Officer for New Day Community Centers and Nate Lowe and Associates, an organization that provides consultation and treatment services for individuals and family members who struggles with addictions. I do travel a lot. Therefore, If it takes a little while for my response, it is not blowing you off. Be patient, I will get back to you.
Thanks a million!!!
