Nedra's Story
Oh my gosh!!! Just turned 61. Where did the time go? I have such great memories of growing up on Moore Avenue in North Apollo and attending Apollo High School. I have been renewing friendships with so many childhood friends in facebook. We communicate almost daily and have come to know one another's families through photos and stories. I graduated in nursing from West Va Wesleyan, married, and at age 22 had a beautiful daughter, Heather. She is happily married and a medical social worker but has taken time off to raise her family of three daughters ( yes, I am a grandmother of three).
I divorced and remarried my husband, Paul, about nine years later and at age 42 had my second daughter- Anna. She is a beautiful college student.
Paul and I continue to work ( remember...we have a daughter in college). He is in administration at Mount Aloysius College and I teach RNs returning for their baccalaureate degree at Penn State-Altoona. I love my job, and I love technology. My specialty is nursing informatics ( i.e. computers in nursing).

Carolina. Our home is five blocks from my Mother and brother, Dennis and 2 hours from my sister, Darene and her husband, Jim Stankus. We are 8 blocks from the beach and a few blocks from the Cape Fear River. We will probably always live on Cresson Mountain, because it is so beautiful here ( and we are not far from the children and grandchildren); but I suspect we will spend some of our winter months in Carolina after retirement.

I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wild idea. As it turns out, they were right.

If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have an Imac, laptop Mac Pro, and time to create to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My hero is my Mother. She is disabled from an aneurysm she suffered at age 69; and lost her soul mate, my Dad 2 years later; but she keeps going, loves the Lord, and gets up with a smile on her face everyday. She is a great lady!
I love baseball first and foremost- disappointed in my Pirates; love the Steelers and Penguins; Pets- always loved dogs; but Anna just got a kitten and I am enjoying him
