Neva's Story
Life
I graduated from OHS in 68 then went to OC for 1 yr. I then married and moved to the Dallas area and worked at Holiday Inns. Moved back to Odessa in 73. Had a son there and he passed away in 75. Then in 77 moved to Capitan, NM (Home of Smokey the Bear). In '80 we adopted a son from the Philippines and the day after we found out he was in the states I found out I was pregnant. I got 2 babies in 8 months. Then in '83 had another daughter. I lived for alittle time in the Dallas area again after the birth of the 1st daughter but came back to Capitan before the second one arrived. husband for the sake of my children. I have worked in motels here in Ruidoso and for the last 16 years have worked at Bonita Park Nazarene Camp, located between Ruidoso and Capitan, NM.I have lived on the grounds for the last 14 years and raised my children here. I cooked for the groups for 14 years and now I am in the office with guest services. I love it here. My youngest daughter is the Movie Theater manager in Ruidoso, the elder daughter is administrative assistant at Hawthorne Suites Golf and Convention Center and my son has just moved back from Colorado Springs, Co.
