Nichole's Story

I was a student at Lincoln Centennial until the end of grade 4 and I remember most people I went to school with, and still keep in touch with one of them actually. I moved from St. Catharines to London Ontario where I went to Chippewa Public School. From there I went to John Paul II Catholic Secondary School in London Ontario. I graduated with a B.A Hons. in Near Eastern Archaeology and Medieval Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University (2011). I completed a field school in the summer of 2010 in the Middle East (Jordan) which was an amazing and rigorous six week adventure. I'm currently living in Kitchener with my husband, working in retail. My first novel was published in 2014. e at Laurier. At Laurier I joined Delta Gamma women's fraternity and let me tell you, it's completely different than what you see on tv. I went into university with the stereotype that sororities and fraternities were all about drinking, but the majority of our time was spent on fundraising, scholarship and self improvement which was such an amazing experience. I was able to travel to Indiana for a conference as a representative of my group and I'm so lucky to have had that opportunity. It was also at Laurier that I met my husband. He finished his MA in Classics from UWO in 2013. He has been so amazing with me, supporting me through social crises, and through all of my health issues. He gave me a different perspective of Christians from the one I had when I went to a Catholic high school, and that eventually led to my conversion in 2010. I don't associate with a specific denomination, although I enjoy the energy of Pentecostal churches. When people ask, I tell them I'm a Christian.
