Yvonne's Story
Life
After graduating high school, I became a Navy wife and lived in South Carolina and Hawaii. We got stationed back on the east coast in CT in 1976. I got divorced in 1982 and remarried in 1983 (another sailor). We haved lived in CT near the submarine base since then except for a 2 year stint in Bremerton, WA. I loved WA, but all my family is in New England. I made a career of restaurant management and did that until 1996. After 5 years at Foxwoods Casino, I was burned out and decided to move on to a less hectic career. I am currently working at Pfizer as a department executive associate (kind of a glorified jack of all trades). I love the work and have a great boss. I have 3 children, Renee, Debra & Bryan and 2 stepchildren, Gina & Laura. They all live within 15 minutes of us, which allows us to see each other frequent...Expand for more

Workplace
I went back to work in 1978 after the kids were in school. I started out in the restaurant industry as a supervisor and worked my way up to asst manager before moving on to the casino. I managed a restaurant there for 5 years, earned a degree in restaurant management and then decided to give it all up for a less hectic lifestyle. I have since worked as an administrative assistant, first at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant, then at Pfizer, where I still am employed.
Military
I have spent all my married life (40 years) as a Navy wife. I have traveled all over the US and have enjoyed it very much. I especially liked living in WA state, it is an incredibly beautiful state. I have made wonderful friends and loved being part of the submarine service.
