Nicole's Story
Life
I've been a single parent since 1996 a handsome boy, Jared. Right now (2005) he's 9 years old. I'm a legal secretary in Seattle for an insurance defense firm. Yes, I still live in Puyallup, up on the hill even after a short stint living downtown back behind the hospital.
I would love to catch up with a few people from my graduating class. I know ya'll are still out there.
School
I was such a geek in school. Yeah, I was the psycho senior wearing New Kids tshirts to school and really didn't care that I got made fun of every single day. I had a few really good friends, Nona McFarland, Paul Simms, Jean Uemura, Tom Dillard. I've kept in some sort of contact with Nona over the years, but really no one else.
I think what surprised me most was when we were graduating, some of the sentiments I received from people I considered the "cool" kids, when I never was one. It surprised me in a way that even today wh...Expand for more

Workplace
I've run the gamut in employment in the last 14 years. Worked as a photographer at Sears Portait Studios, a cook and server at Pizza Hut, an office temp at a million different places, worked for the Pantages Theater in Tacoma for a couple of years right after I had my son. Worked for Ferrell Gas. Was a manager for Shurgard Storage for a couple of years. I've been in the Legal Secretary field for four years this August and it's where I'll probably stay. Started out making next to nothing and struggling to support myself and my son to now making fairly good money at the firm I'm at now, which is my third firm. The first one I quit because it was a horrible environment. The second one, my boss passed away from a heart attack and stroke, and this one I got after temping for a week with them. I'm happy with the job I have now.
