Nicole's Story
Life
The Short Version: Since graduation, I went to RCC for a year and a half, then very spontaniously decided to move up to San Francisco (a wonderful and exciting city!!!) in February of 2000. I have been up here ever since, working at a job that I love (preschool teacher), going to school, and just living! I have had so many exhiliarating and unbelievable experiences in the three years that I have been in SF. Material for a book one day, maybe. I still want to be a published writer. But i'm just working towards getting my Bachelors degree in Creative Writing from SFSU in the meantime.
No kids, not married, but very much in love with a great guy from New York. Visit Manhattan every summer, and it rocks. Going back for another sweltering three months in June. But that's it for me. And this really is the short (drama-free)version.
**Okay, now I am happily married to my NY Love, and we are expecting our first kid in early September!!! Happy-happy, joy-joy

Okay, so it's been six years total since I've been here: its 2006!! Still lovin' SF, although some things have changed:

the SFPD. We have a friggin' gorgious 2 year old daughter, Alexis, and as for me, I am still on my way to becoming a writer. I've graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in English; Creative Writing. I've had a few horror stories about Riverside (smile) published, I've done some freelance writing for a couple of websites, and just last month I've retired from being a preschool teacher in order to fully pursue writing. I just had a couple of interviews for copywriting positions, so wish me luck. I think that's about it so far. See everyone at the 10 year reunion!

So I got the job, and I am now a merchandise copywriter at Wal-Mart.com in Brisbane, CA. It's only a twenty minute commute from my house. Anyway, it rocks. I write and listen to Live 105 (the BA equivalent of KROQ) all day. As corporate as the Bay Area gets, which means that its super chill, but with the benefits of working for a huge company. I think that I can stop here with the updates. This is it; I feel like I am finally on my way--like this is the starting point for a long-coveted career in writing.
Peace, Love and Happiness to my fellow Riversidians.
