Nicole's Story
Life
After high school, I attended college at UW Sheboygan, UW Stevens Point, and I finally finished in 2004 at Lakeland College. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Elem. /Middle School Education with a minor in science. I worked as a substitute teacher for about a year. In 2005-2006, I worked as a teacher's aide in Valders in a middle school special ed. classroom. That was tough, but very rewarding. In 2006, Lake Country Academy hired me to be the head of the science department. I also teach reading, math, and spelling in the mornings.
I met my husband at a family reunion. ;) He was dating my cousin at the time:) A month later, I saw him while at the bar and he had broken up with her and I had broken up with my boyfriend. I tried to hook him up with a friend, but he couldn't resist me ;)
While bartending at Country USA in Oshkosh in 2002, I was called up to the main stage because I had won something. A gorilla came out with a small gift in hand. He got down on one knee, and pulled off his "head." It was James!!! I was floored!!! He asked me to marry him right there on st...Expand for more
age in front of thousands of people (we were also on the JumboTron). I couldn' say, "No" in front of all those people. I was so surprised. It was perfect!
We got married on August 9th, 2003 at James' dad's house on the Pigeon River. It was the most beautiful and perfect day! All of our friends and family were there.
We bought a house in Kiel in 2003 as well. We have two dogs and a cat. Buddy is our Chihuahua. He weighs 3.25 lbs. Sadie, a golden lab, is my baby. She is the fastest little thing. She loves playing with her baseball and swimming in the river that we live on. Kit Kat is our FAT cat. He weighs nearly 20 lbs.
James and I like to go camping, fishing, biking, and anything we can outside. We both enjoy playing volleyball. James plays softball, flag football, and he is in many bass fishing tournaments.
Our plans for the future include lots of travel. We love going on cruises and anywhere warm. Maybe in a few years we'll even have a couple little ones. I would like to continue schooling to get my master's degree.
Life's a journey, not a destination.
