Nina's Story

I first wrote a profile here ages ago - so I'm going to start from scratch and assume you've never heard hide nor hair from me since whenever we knew each other. If you have heard from me, or read a prior profile - you can go to the 2014 UPDATE. So after Hunter College Elementary School (waves to classmates from there); Music & Art HS (musical wave in that directions); St. Lawrence (for 2 years); NYU (2 years and a degree); and St. Johns School of Law, I ran away from NYC to California. I passed the bar in California and doodled around for a few years, doing contract work and not being sure what I wanted to do when I grew up, and then I opened my own small business law firm. That was in about 1982. Now in 2015, I'm still running my own small business law firm. I love what I do, and have no desire to retire. Although it would be nice to take some more vacations. In 1994ish I became suddenly single, did some serious navel gazing and finally in 1997 met the guy I eventually married. We met online when he lived in NJ but luckily he was wiling to move out here to Silicon Valley. But when I'm not drafting contracts and forming corporations, I like to eat (too much...Expand for more
), travel (for the relaxation, indulgence and fun, not excitement or adventure), and watch people (I find them more interesting than scenery). When most of you knew me, I think I was so busy trying to be what I thought other people wanted me to be that I was downright confused, and tried to be pretty invisible. Or felt I was. Everything was confusing to me then. I look back and the word that comes to mind is "clueless." I'm not sure if I understand the world any better now. But I do understand me, and I'm just a teeny tiny bit more up front now. I'm a very different person now. (please note I switched to the sarcasm font for "teeny tiny") I am unabashedly happy with my life. I've worked hard to get it to this point and I am enjoying every moment. UPDATE 2014: We've fallen in love with and bought a house in an unincorporated area outside of Glen Rose, TX. Right now it's a second home, but we hope to spend more time here next year and perhaps move in 2-3 years. Tidbits of the story of how a New York City girl ended up hoping to move to a teeny tiny town deep in the heart of Texas, are found on my only occasionally updated blog to which apparently one cannot link.
