question I always get is what do I do in the Navy. Here is the answer the best way I can tell you. I am what they call a Boatswain's Mate. I am in the oldest job in the Navy. What we do, we are the ones that get the ship tied up and underway, raise and lower the anchors when anchoring out, paint the ship, drive small boats for the ship, drive the ship itself, re fueling at sea, and do honors and ceremonies. If you have seen any type of Navy movie where you see people standing in ranks, bells ring and a whistle is blowing, thats what I do. I love what I do in the Navy.".
