Nolan's Story

Life I was born in Barnhart, Irion Co., Tx on 07/04/1944. Moved from there to just east of the Neches river in Smith Co. When I was 2 years old. Attended Dean Elementary thru the middle of the 3rd grade then moved to San Angelo and started the remainder of the 3rd grade at Reagan. Did the 7th grade at Lakeview, the 8th grade at Edison, the 9th grade at Lakeview and finished High School at Central. Worked as a machinist and welder at different businesses at Angelo. Married in '65, had three wonderful kids. Divorced after 14 yrs. Started railroading on ATSF in '66. Lost my mother in '69. Quit the RR and went back to the machine shop in Tyler. Started back with the Cotton Belt RR there in '71. Married a lady I met in Corsicana in August, '83. Moved to Dalhart, Tx same year. Still here. Still working. Want to quit but don't know how. We have six kids together (total)....Expand for more
One in Calif. , two in Katy, two in Chandler and one in Liberty City. 12 grandkids and one granddaughter. Joined Marine Corp Reserve right out of highschool. Went thru Police Academy at Longview (Kilgore Jr College). Worked as reserve Co. deputy and reserve city policeman. Like to fish and hunt. Have a hunting lease close to Jefferson. Fish Lake Texhoma, Colorado river, Rio Grand and any other place that holds water and I can get my boat into. Plan to retire and would like to move to the central part of the state near water. Just would be a big endeavor. Would have to move a lot of "stuff". Have my FFL license and still like to go to the range and shoot targets but can't see as well as I used to. I'll quit rambling and maybe straighten this mess out at a later date. First time I ever tried to put anything down. Left out most of my life. Just put in a few bumps.
