Nona's Story

Life WOW ... so much has happened since I last logged on to Classmates.com ... where to begin?? Ok - first, I'm divorced (just like 70% of the rest of the world). Still living in Puyallup. Life has been an utter whirlwind since then ... I started Middle Eastern Bellydance in the summer of 2003 with Jaleh of Puyallup. Things happened, people differ - and me being the ambitious person I am, I convinced a friend to join me in starting our OWN bellydance company. It all came to life in June of 2005 when we got our business license - Jeweled Scarab Dance Company was born!! Then, we secured a teaching job at Puyallup's Dance Explosion on Saturdays. Then we sponsored a Middle Eastern band from California doing their 3rd CD Release Tour up to Washington and organized a large bellydance show in Tukwila (we had the BEST turnout of all the shows - and we did it on a THURSDAY night). Then, we got crazy .... we ended up teaching TWO classes on Saturdays (doing a third this summer - BELLYDANCE AEROBICS!!...Expand for more
), plus we now teach at Puyallup Parks & Recreation on Mondays and Pierce College Ft. Steilacoom on Wednesdays AND our company (6 professionals) practices on Friday nights and we all perform all over Washington. :) Since all this started, my life has been CONSUMED by bellydance (it's my non-paying, wheels on fire, non-stop, go-go-go, LOVE IT job!!). Check out the website at jeweledscarab DOT c*o*m. :) Other than the bellydance, the only thing I have time for is my friends (mostly bellydancers, especially my company members), my boyfriend Eric (so tolerant of my duel life of bellydance), my family, and my job (the pay-the-bills job!!). I'm very much looking forward to the next class reunion to see where life has lead everyone else ... Until then ... **smooches** *****UPDATE***** 01/10/08 Well, the bellydance company is BOOMING ... we're now up to teaching SIX classes a week (and still work full-time day jobs). Things are going great and I can't wait to see what the future has in store ...
