Nora's Story
Life
I am a glutton for punishment. I love to come home to Decatur. It's true. I can't wait for my next visit. I love to go to Krekel's and the Hickory Point Mall. I love to see stretch pants and big bangs. It's a real thrill, partly because it's like a time capsule. I visited all of my schools in Decatur the last time I was home. They smelled the same, sounded the same, everything. C was outside yelling at marching band kids through the megaphon...Expand for more
e. My kindergarten teacher was setting up the tiny tables and chairs for the 1st day of school. It was just like it had been.
Now I teach 7th grade. It's fascinating to think about the person I was at that age. I may have been insane, judging from the pictures. I like teaching and I like teenagers. They're bizarre and confused, which is what I remember most, for sure. Although I'm in LA now, which I love, I am certainly still a Decaturite at heart.
