Noreen's Story

I have traveled near and far it seems I married but am divorced many yrs. I have had 3 children all grown now with families of their own,I also took in 7 children and was a foster parent to them, and they also are grown up either married with families,or single...I continued my education in the area of Human Services, and Medical went to college BCC in Pittsfield, Ma. 2 yrs. Iam proud of my acomplishments as I went back to school when I was 35 to persue this career and show myself you are never to old to learn,. I moved to the Grn. Mtn. State in '94 and settled in after many yrs' in the beautiful Berkshire County towns in Mass. I have a hobby business called Sewcrafter's Co I do all kinds of sewing, and enjoy that a lot. I also enjoy doing craft projects, DIY for home and yard, being a grandparent allows me to spoil the grandbabies with items I make time to time always was told a homemade gift is cherished more.. I love to read ,enjoy hiking, nature, camera pic taking of seasons changes, and, animals, family. I am a *christian and also involved in my church and it's activities,.I love to cook and spend time with good friends..I do lots of volunteer work in and around my community where live also. I have to say I did not begin with the class in 1962 where many of you got to know one another well, I came to CV in Jan1966when we moved to area,I had attended Mahar JSHS and left to attend New Salem Academy with the move I began at CHS but being in 2grades at one time got quite confusing with class schedules so transferred to CV as curriculum was better suited for my studies and the future career path(s) I might persue someday, either own Tailoring /Sewing Business. I enjoyed time at CV later found there became a problem with hrs' to graduate so I never got to be a part of the pomp/circumstance or the prom for the class of '66 etc. But, wish I had!!! I did return in fall of '66 did studies and then in Nov.1966 at an ofc. ceremony got my diploma!!! as you all who graduated in June got before me, my parent requested I be allowed to graduate with you all,and a signed letter assuring my return in fall to complete class hrs. was denied. policy rules stated. So I at least made the best of an awkward situation,[to share what happened and maybe help my class know me better as many come/go without rememberance] why shared above details.... I have no ill feelings over this matter rules are rules they say* My only hope is that the class of 1966 will strive to keep those cherished school year memories fresh and join for reunions every 5-10 yrs. together and rekindle and share in the milestones each has made through the passing of time in joyous celebration together again. I have traveled to Pa.in the recent 3yrs. restoring a camp for livableness for my brother who is handicapped, and love the area and other places visited within that state, also been to Tn./ Nashville 2x's love the south and their hospitality and pleasant ways. of course >I am a C&W fan, Oldies, and love to sing, dance when get the chance.. I am a sincere, honest person caring, kind to others always and a good listener .I hope this helps my fellow classmates to reach out and share there personal thoughts also, we all change and have made choices in life good/bad and we grew from them as we are the baby boomer generation bunch . I hope we can all get together in 2016 be our 50th reunion Maybe a few of us can begin NOW to start a pact to have a reunion celebration and take pic's and have memories to cherish of our youth yrs'at CVHS Let's go Class of 1966 I'm willing to be a part of this hopeful event who wants to join in the planning???? In faith and friendship Noreen > > In life I have come to realize that God knows all for our path and whether ones dreams of what career pursues forth either sewing,or nursing human services it will be those steps I trod along the path towards with His guidance I can succeed always... My family and friends thought that was a possibility idea. As it turns out, they were right. I enjoy taking walks / find a good book cuddle up in a comfy chair and read If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have seam ripper, pad/pencil, and tape measure to be able to deal with the day-to-day. For I often have to stop write thoughts down and later put to verse or a poem comes forth My hero 1st. is JESUS he saved my soul, and I daily grow as I read and are taught from his word the Bible, I believe this characteristic comes from my mother and Memre'(grandma) each were the inspiration which helped me walk and be who I am today also to love sewing, crafts, being a parent and make do with what have and be caring, kind ,considerate person to all. The person(s) from my past who I'd most like to see again are *my classmates and Laura Grandchamp, Gillis La Pointe, Linda Papilon too, because some were attendants in my wedding in 1967. I'd also like to meet some of my teachers who were the cement of teaching myself and others the lessons we needed to grow also. I am a die hard RED SOX and PATROITS fan, I love animals especially dogs I owned a mini Shihtzu-Rat Terrier he is adorable and spoiled rotten I've had him since he was abou...Expand for more
t 6wks old,he is in heaven now put to sleep due to illness in 2011... I love to watch History Channel,Discovery Channel, Grey's Anatomy,Nova,TLC,Food Network, and DIY love a family movie and comedy, and a good tear jerker movie time to time, some favorite movies are Grease,Grease2 Flashdance,Satuday Nite Fever,Momma Mia, Titanic, Love Story, The Sound of Music,The Yearling, Ten Commandments ,On Golden Pond etc.. If I could improve my home add on a separate craft rm.. My dream home would be log cabin. I am a cow collector of figurines have many. As a parent, grandparent I've lived to always be a good listener, share truthfully when asked opinions, ideas, thoughts, and Love unconditionally Be firm and always know a HUG means the world to them, and say ILove YOU If I won $100 million, I'd giva titheto my church, then spend some on family, a vacation, missions, veterans, and the homeless . My current age is 63. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be retired and slow. I was so completely wrong. To persue a career which is worthwhile grow, learn all the time and give 100%+ always placing the person/people working with for needs before SELF for dignity reason My best friend would tell you I'm a helper/very kind, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as shy/odd. No way maybe a blouse and pr.jeans now and then I share my home with my doggie, which I find peaceful, fulfilled. Bowling, Sewing awards,Veteran awards for help, community and organizations belong to In 10 years, I hope to maybe be engaged or married again > IFthe future Mr. Right comes along; I'm going to get there by thinking positive. There may be more than one but the one who stands out was my classmates who I started school Sharon Carey andMichael Aubin; we walked together each day to school, run to schoolyard get in line for class to begin school SCHOOL was in a large building which had a big room up/down and 1-8grades were in it later the school was closed ,so we all had to go to next town where a bigger school was built and it was confusing at the beginning and new classmates sometimes School was called Killingly Central, **Sharon C my friend she was the friend who I became close to we made chinese jumpropes from elastic bands, played many games of that era during recess, shared stories and watched the Lassie show, Leave it to beaver, Father knows best, etc. family shows of that era. She as myself was raised with strict parents } I often wondered where did she go in life, we moved away in '60's to Massachusetts and contact has been lost thru the yrs .I was 12 when left the state was born and began to grow up in Connecticut . I miss that area and the friends I had those beginning years but I also hope and wish they had success along the paths they went in lifeand someday maybe get to meet again snare lifes memory moments. My first job was at tobacco farms in the summer, where I got paid $1.25hr to place bundles of tobacco leaves neatly and sew leaves together. What I remember most about it is getting up early taking a bus to field farm and sometimes if it had rained it was a muddy walking to the barn and loafers would get all messed up. family get togethers Friday nites mother playing the organ and neighbors& relatives all around we all singing, and also playing Pacheesi with grt, aunts and grandmother also. Walking to my Memre'/ Pepe"s home 1 mile across RR tracks to visit and help in the flower gardens or veg. gardens and to also watch& learn to do bead work from her, and crochet, knit I dearly loved my grandparents I placed some tacks on the teachers chair and remember it was not nice and the disipline received was humiliating in front of classmates to be punished by being hit with the wide ruler on the hands very hard but a lesson learned also the punishment I received when got home for the teacher had sent note to parents.. In those days Obedience and Respect were something we all knew of and heeded most of the time usually... I was born in Ct. I moved in 1960 to Mass. and remained there for almost 25 yr. various places, I moved to Vt. in summer of '94 where I have remained a resident. My biggest acomplishment & surprise has been that I was able to admit I made mistakes along the path in life and grew from them to the person I am today. I'd love to meet any teacher from grade school, thru HS if that was possible just to reminesce and let them see how well I've done. And My Guidance counselors Mr. Ellis from Mahar Regional they were so understanding and kind. Truly happiness can be found anywhere focus on the person *you are and want to be in life.. My 1st. crush WOW!!! lets see a fella who was a twin lived in the next town from us. it was puppy love though never more; my 1st official date was the gentleman I ended up marrying and he was the heart, soul ,love of my life back then... good memories sad ones too.We divorced after 3yrs.marriage but have a handsome son Robert Jr. One do over Wait not get married at 17 as did That I am not the oodball straighhair girl I was back then, simplydressed or shy either, I want my clasmates to remember I was helpful, and usually smiling.
