Norma's Story
I left LaGrange in 1962 to move to Atlanta to get medical help for my mother. I attended Grady Memorial Hospitals surgical assistant's school and worked in surgery for 20+ years in several different hospitals. Although I didn't graduate from Troup with my class in 1963, I later finished high school and entered college after I moved to Tennessee. I graduated with a degree in Nursing. I have two grown children of my own and two grown step children. Together, my husband and I have five grandchildren. This is my second marriage. My present husband and I married in 1985 after meeting in college. This was a second marriage for both of us. I lived in Newport, Rhode Island in the '60s while my first husband was in the Navy. interested in Psychiatric nursing and I worked in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing for several years. I was listed in Who's Who in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing for several years. I earned my Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing in 1990. I now live with my husband in Tennessee where we attend church regularly and look forward to seeing our grandchildren often.
My husband and I often return to LaGrange to visit, as I still have some family there. We love to travel in our motor home, especially out west.
