Norman's Story
My first job- Delivering booze in the east side of Milwaukee in Little Italy. Yup, mob base area. Real nice people, just didn't ever turn my back on strangers. Tough place to learn what the city was like.
First job out of college with my BSME degree- High Steel! Nothing like walking the 12 beam with no safety gear 100 feet up. Also, enjoyed the nice warm environment of the metal melting furnaces I installed in Detroit.
Then I hit the big time selling rotating equipment. Been at it for 30 years. Still doing it. Lots of travel and interesting places. Refineries are my babies. Its been interesting traveling more internationally in the last five years than I ever did when I was young and foolish.

y lovely wife has kept the home fire burning. Don't know how she could put up with the travel, constant pain of having to handle the books and housework while I beat up the Midwest selling my equipment.
Four kids and seven grand kids later my family, is spread out across the US. The idea of being in one location all your life certainly has changed since we were young. Frankly a lot it not for the better.
Remember what it was like to know your neighbors, play in the park without having to worry about strangers, even ride your bike anywhere in town without concern of bad people giving you problems. This is improvement? Yet buy comparison, there are worse places. I have seen some of them in my travels.
