My heroes were my father and mother, they instilled in me right from wrong, to be helpful to others, and to respect others. My first band directing job was at North Adams Public Schools. I was there from 1957 to 1963 - wonderful students and a great farming community. Then I was in the Hudson schools for 2 years before going to Dowagiac. I was the band director in Dowagiac from 1965 to 1972. Great bands and students I then went to the Olivet schools until I retired in 1986 and fortunately produced some more fine bands there and wonderful students and parents. I am enjoying tremendously hearing from my former band students through Facebook. I adopted a tiger cat who is a real companion and am adopting a calico kitten next week.
