Omar's Story

Life After High School, I went to Architecture School for a year. Finally decided that I would go broke as an Architect with my lack of artistic ability. Math Major for four days then decided on Political Science in hopes of going to law school. Started dating Weena Cooper in July of 1986. We finally got married, after I graduated law school, on Aug. 15, 1992. We have a beautiful daughter, Emily, who was born in Nov. of 1997. She is a happy kid. We are very active in our church and love living her...Expand for more
e. Weena was a teacher for nearly ten years until we had Emily. We are blessed in that she is now a stay at home mom. I was a partner with the law firm of Sanders, Austin, Flanigan & Aboulhosn in Princeton. In 2008, I was elected as a Family Court Judge for Mercer and McDowell Counties. However, Governor Joe Manchin appointed me as a Circuit Court Judge on December 5, 2008 and therefore I declined the election to the Family Court. I had to stand for election for the Circuit Court position in 2010. On May 11, 2010, In 2016, I became a judge in the federal court. That is about it for us. We look forward to reading other Bios of our classmates.
