Orlando (Lanny)'s Story
Life
The first half of my career I worked for medium and large organizations in human resources management and organization development. The companies included Knudsen, Baxter Healthcare, Warner Bros. and GUESS?. In 1993 I started my own consulting firm: The Blake Group (I had to think a long time before coming up with that name). So since then my focus has been conflict resolution, management development, and leadership and executive coaching. Essentially I work with organizations, executive teams and indivduals to improve performance and personal growth.
After South Hills High, I went to Cal State Fullerton for a BA and then on to Univ of So CA for a MPA. For 2 years I attended Pacifica Graduate Institute studying Depth Psychology and then transfered to Claremont Graduate School where I finished my doctorate reseaching conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation.

Both of my parents had passed and my son was married and moved to VA. I figured I needed some kind of an adventure. I was divorced and remarried and my wife Irma was from Tucson. We explored AZ and decided that the AZ Wine Country would work for us. We moved to Elgin, AZ in April 2001 and bought 20 acres with a territorial style house. Elgin is 5000 ft high and 15-20 degrees coller than Tucson (thank God) and we enjoy it here. We even get snow in the winter! Many people from CA are movng in and planting vineyards.
I continue my consulting practice from here traveling to clients in CA and the east (all I need is an airport within 45 minutes). Irma is a partner in the practice and offers training in Spanish as well. Now we are convinvng people to come here: we run a retreat - Leaders Path Institute here in Elgin, AZ. We get rave reviews from the folks that go through the expereince and we are hoping Leaders Path will allow to do less travel.
