Orrin's Story
Life
Living in Colorado Springs. Married 15 yrs to Karen Bates of Chicago, IL. Working in Furniture Restoration. No children. 4 cats and a bevy of squirrels, raccoons, deer, skunks, foxes and once, even a bobcat!. Spare time spent hiking the Pike's Peak region, collecting rocks, building furniture for the house and making abstract art. took a stab at painting canvas and working odd jobs for about 5 years. Then, I found myself doing furniture finishing, which turned out to be a very creative outlet for me, and they pay you for it! So, that continued until age 30 when I met the love of my life, Karen, and followed her to Chicago, IL. I spent 5 years there as a printing press operator and really honed my color skills.We decided to get married and move to Colorado,and I took a position in furniture refinishing and manufacturing of custom furnishings. This combines my love of wood and my passion for color.I continue to make and sell my art as a side venture.
