I live in Lexington--been here since 1990 when me and both children came here to attend the University of Kentucky at the same time. (Quite a feat!) All 3 of us graduated, thank the Laudy! :-) I've been a registered nurse for the past 31 yrs. I specialized in wound care and was Board Certified for over 21 years (went to Emory University in Atlanta for that.) I retired from the Bureau of Prisons (FMC Lexington) where I had a wound clinic and was a regional consultant for other facilities in the BOP. I continue to do some stand by work as a school health nurse (once a nurse, always a nurse). My son Shad is an Agricultural Extension agent for the University of Kentucky in Letcher Co. My daughter Shawna is a middle school teacher, is married & lives in Lexington. I have a granddaughter and a grandson (which I of course adore!)

school: Brazil, Russia, Ecuador, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales & The Isle of Man....and most of the U.S. However, my native Kentucky is my favorite place to be.
After 29 years of singleness, I reconnected with and married my British pen pal. We had started writing to each other in high school when I was 15 and John was 16. John is from Fleetwood, England (Lancashire) & is retired from the Royal Air Force. We had been lost to each other for 42 years when he searched via the internet in 2010 and discovered my profile on the Jenkins High School website alumni link. We rekindled our friendship via email, FB & Messenger. After all those years (since 1967), we finally met face-to-face in June 2015 when he came to America for the first time. I retired in August 2015 and that same month he came back to escort me to the UK (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales & The Isle of Man) for a 6 week post retirement vacation. We were married May 22, 2016. We couldn't be happier!
