Pam's Story
I am from the midwest, born in Sioux Falls SD, then moved to White Bear Lake. In 72 I moved to Oakton Virginia and graduated from Oakton HS in '75. Graduating from Longwood in 79, I first began selling mopeds, boats and trailers in Richmond before I landed a teaching Job in the chorus dept of Robious Middle School in Chesterfield County; fall of '79.
After two years of teaching chorus and doing dinner theater work, I made a career change and became an Insurance Commercial/Personal underwriter and was promoted to Marketing Rep of the North and West regions of Virginia. Actually, this is how I met my husband Glen, also an Oakton Grad from 72. My Insurance career came to a halt in '88 when I gave birth to twins!
In 95 I began new business, Kindermusik of Fairfax, and I have a website that has really been a great marketing tool. I began with a class of 14 toddlers and now I have about 150 families involved in my Kindermusik classes which range from ages newborn to 7 years.
I still do a lot of singing and enjoy the out of doors. My life surrounds my children and their sports and activities. Two of my children are at Fairfax High, one at James Madison University and my son is at home. Life is very full, but rewarding. I feel very blessed.
