Pam's Story

Life updated. I've been married for 16 yrs and have 2 kids, 9 and 12. Currently, I'm living in San Antonio, Tx. Life has been good for us. We have wonderful neighbors and friends. My husband and I are still in the military and are stationed in the same location. I continue to work as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). I went to Iraq back in 2006 and currently back in the same place- Baghdad! It was not really on my list of "things to do in life" but I really have no choice since I'm in the military. It is what it is. No complaints. At least I know I will be taking care of Soldiers that will have sacrificed more than I! Military Well... I've been an officer in the military since 1989. I've been to many places while in (from Hawaii to West Point, NY) and have made quite a few lifelong friendships with some pretty outstanding people. raduate degree in Nursing and my Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia. I went to Baghdad, Iraq in 2006 as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). Wonderful place. You all should visit- NOT! Anyway, that deployment has made me realize how important family is and not to take your life or your purpose on earth for granted. I saw more devestation of the human body than anyone should see. I also saw a wonderful spirit of life between two clashing cultures emerge and unite. I continue to serve in the capacity of Army CRNA at a large medical center taking care of the finest soldiers- young and old. I am amazed at the dedication of these soldiers that have been severly injured in this war. They want to return to their units and continue soldiering. What an inspiration to all of us. They are the true heros! So next time you see someone in uniform, thank them! They deserve it!
