Pamela's Story
After high school I worked several jobs (10!) before deciding to return to school. At the age of 24, I moved to Springfield, Mo and enrolled at Southwest Mo State. During my first semester I felt a strong calling to become a nurse. ospital in the NICU and remain there today. My parents were right, it does sometimes take a toll on me emotionally and my brothers were right, I still don't like to see my own blood, but turns out, the sight of someone else's doesn't bother me. My boyfriend, well, he was right too!
I married a Cleveland High School graduate (class of 1978) in 1992 and unfortunately after 14 years of marriage we divorced. It was an incredibly painful experience so my heart goes out to any of my classmates who have gone through that.
I have returned to college to pursue a BSN (I graduated with a Nursing Diploma). After 26 years I still love being a nurse!
