Pamela's Story
Life in a nutshell (small nutshell!)
Born and raised "in the city"....California, moved to AR while in 9th grade. Moved to Missouri and lived in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest and now own a nice 30 acre wooded Estate in NW AR with a creek that flows from one end of the property to the other. The Black Angus look so nice dotting over the hillsides. :D

I hope old classmates remember me with warm thoughts. I was never one to get into conflicts, more the studious kind. I loved Art, Choir (till 11th grade and that weird teacher), English with Mrs. Christensen (she was the best teacher in the world for English!!), Math, Science, Library. I hated Study Hall and felt it was a total waste of time. I hated that they made an hour of study hall mandatory. I think it should have remained an elective for those worthless kids to have their own "play time". It was a total disruption for kids like me.
In CA my Mom as Cub Master and Den Leader in Scouts with my brothers, Paul & Scott Eichenlaub, and active in the PTA. My Dad was Scoutmaster. I was in Brownies, but when switched to Girl Scouts I didn't care for it...it was "too girly". I liked the stuff the boys "got to do" much better.
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? My Biggest surprise in life would have to be after FINALLY getting divorced I found that living life on my own wasn't so bad. Matter of fact, I quite liked it and all the freedoms. Then after swearing off men and relationships, BAM I'm being asked to be in another. I wasn't sure I was ready, even though I had definate feelings for him. But the electricity we had the first time he touched me to dance, we knew it was the real thing. Why was I surprised? Because I was not looking for anyone, and certainly not a relationship, and definately NOT marriage. But that is what I got, and I love where I am in life. (Grandbabies are so cool!!) How long have you been married, and has...Expand for more
it turned out as you expected? 15 years now. We went through a very rough patch, his mid-life crisis he is calling it, where he was mad at the world, but taking everything out on me. I was through with the abuse, the screaming and yelling, the verbal assaults and attacks, the put downs, etc. I kept trying to talk and reason with him. Even a reletive of his tried to tell him many times what he was doing, to no avail. After life threats to me, I filed for divorce to wake him up. We separated while the process went on. After just over 3 months, finally we talked without interference. And agreed to give it another try. We have been back together now since July 24 on a trial to see how it goes.
What have you learned from your kids? I have learned that even though someone is raised in a house with a good parent and a bad parent, the child DOES see what is going on. The child DOES CHOOSE his/her path to follow. Having a bad parent in the house doesn't always make the child turn out bad too. Praise the Heavens!! I have an awesome Son!! He is living with my Parents helping them out as my Dad has Parkinson's very badly, and his Health with it is declining quite a bit. I am so thankful my Son is there, as my Daddy took quite a fall recently and if not for my Son, no telling what would have happened. He cleaned him up and Doctored him and they got Dad to the ER for stitches and tests. His head looked pretty bad when I saw him a couple days later.
What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Everything. No one from school ever REALLY knew me or took the time to try. I did get close to a few people. Some of my favorites were Pam Varner & David Green in Art. If ANYONE from school took the time to know me now, they would get a HUGE surprise, and hopefully they would walk away thinking to themselves..."Now WHY do I put so much emphasis on so many trivial and frivilous things? Why did I think ______ is SOOO important, it's not. Life is, being human...a REAL friend...THAT is important!"
