Pamela's Story
Life
After graduating from Cary High, I took my dream trip to France; it was a little risque to say the least. Fell in love with the life and culture, took one more trip to Paris in 1990 and then joined the Navy to see the rest of the world; oh, boy! The big and small of it - started on a tugboat and ended up on an aircraft carrier! In 1992 I married, had a daughter and divorced while in the Navy. My daughter was born with Spina Bifida which is a neural tube birth defect. She endured much in the beginning, but has been relatively healthy and an inspiration to all who know her. I remarried in 1999, had another baby girl in 2000; seperated in 2001 divorced by 2003. True love had eluded me once again, but not for long. Three is the charm, and though I endured much heartache being twice divorced it has only made me appreciate my love so much more. I'll be celebrating my 3rd year wedding anniversary June 6, 2007. Now, my work resume; can you say jack of all trades? Haha... After my tour in the Navy as a store keeper, I worked for Ameri...Expand for more
can Airlines in Cary as a telecommunicator (reservations), and I went to school parttime at NCSU. Pay was horrible at American, great flight benefits but I never had enough money to pay for hotel...haha. I quit working there to go to school full time. Graduating with an English Degree (secondary education concentration) and a minor in French, I finally got a job after six months. First year of teaching was quite an eye opener. After getting married and moving, I was unable to get another teaching position in the area I had relocated. Turned out to be a blessing when I started my new career as a 9-1-1 telecommunicator and law enforcement dispatcher. Perks to the job are very few dull days, and working 12 hour shifts means I usually only end up working about 16 days a month. I've been working for Lenoir County Communications for over two years, and I love it! If you're ever in Kinston look me up, new name is Pamela Hartman married to Philip Hartman. I've missed all of the class reunions, but I will not miss our 20th, I promise!!!
