Pamela's Story

Life Life is changing very quickly for me. I am going through the process of Organ Transplantation. Most of my time is spent in Rochester at the Mayo Clinic - it still boggles my mind that we are all so lucky as to live so close to the best medical minds on earth. I live in Eagan, with my husband Ed and a boatload of pets. When all the prep testing is finished,(not long now) It'll just take that one magic phone call, and I'll be off for three or four months. Save a good wish, or even a prayer would be welcome. I'll take you along on my journey if you care to join me! Pamela Papenhausen/Bauer/Ashby Be good - and be healthy ;-} Update :: I had transplant Surgery December 14th,2006 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. As of my Six Month exams which I recently had - I am doing very well. Recovery has not been terribly difficult, once you get over the fact that restrictions will always be there. t fun and part to visit my in-laws. Pretty handy that they live in Florida, don't you think?? I'm seeing regular visits to see the folks every winter !!! The days are warm now, and I love getting out for walks and without getting too sappy - just enjoying all the sights and sounds that I came all to close to losing forever. The 4th of July parade here in Eagan is fabulous - I'm so looking forward to it. If you pop in and read this - please take a minute to drop me a note and let me know what's new in your world. I'll be keeping an eye on the e-mail !! Pam June 2009, Just a note to say I am feeling good, enjoying the early summer weather, gardening like a nut. I just adopted a 5 year old male Golden Lab - man, does he keep me in shape! It seems I have fully recovered from the pesky organ rejection problem I was struggling with, so from here on out I am concentrating on enjoying life and wringing as much out of it as I can. I hope things are going well in your world as well, because hell, we aren't getting any younger. Be happy and live well. Pam
