Pamela's Story
Life
Right after graduation from Proviso, I went to Illinois and graduated with a degree in biology / secondary ed. The teaching job market was a little slim at that time, so I worked for a medical pubishing company in Chicago's loop until I could decide what's next. By the end of the year, I got married and kept on working at Year Book while my husband finished med school. After he graduated we began our family. I stayed home with my 3 sons, but when the marriage began to get shaky, I decided I'd better get ready to work again, but what at? I ended up getting another B.S. in nursing and then followed up training...Expand for more
to become a family nurse practitioner. I'm now working through the Rush University College of Nursing in various homeless programs mostly located on the west side of Chicago and enjoying the work a lot.
After short term stays in Montreal Canada and Charlottesville Virginia I lived in River Forest for 20 years and moved 2 years ago into a bungalow in Elmwood Park. I have 2 sons who are still in college and live with me during the summer and also a boomerang son (and his wife)renting my basement.
I work to travel, and was able to visit Australia and New Zealand last winter. Hope to see Denmark next year.
