Pamela's Story
Life
Hi, my name is Pamela "Stickel" Evans. I grew up on Beach St. in Muskegon. We lived right across from the park. We could watch sledding, skiing, skating, ball games, even the soapbox derby was run there. We were just 3 houses from Lake Michigan. I loved it. I went to Bluffton Elem. from kindergarten thru sixth grade. I then went to Bunker Jr. High thru the eighth grade. We then moved to Springfield, Ohio where I attended Roosevelt Jr. Hight in the nineth grade and then to North High from the tenth grade thru the eleventh grade. I really hated to move again, but we were on to Bel Air, Maryland. I attended Bel Air Sr. High for only 6 mos. Again my father was transfered. This time to Stone Mountain, Georgia. I finished out my senior year at Stone Mountain High. I took a few months off and started Jr. College, but I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do. In 1975 I married. My husband is a former sheriff's deputy. In 1976 my first child was born. A girl. Her name is Lindsay. She will be 30 this month and she has been married for 8 years. They just adopted a little boy. He's 21 mos. old. In 1980 my second child was born, another girl. Her name is Angela. She is 25 and has a little girl who is also 21 mos. old. She and her daughter live with us. We now live is N. Carolina. We live a simply life. We live sev...Expand for more
eral miles out of town amid the forest service land. We have, what some would say is, a cat/dog farm. We have a this point in time only 4 cats. We have had as many as 30 cats at one time. We have 16 dogs, again at one time we had as many as 25. Alot of those were strays and hunting dogs who found their way to our home. The one thing I wish I had would be a pasture full of horses. I have always been in love with horses. It started when I was 5 years old. I have had several horses growing up. I trained and showed horses most of my teenage years and into my twenties. It all changed after marriage and children. Now that I'm a Nana, I would love to teach my grandchildren how to ride. I am also, along with my youngest daughter, a huge baseball fan. We are Atlanta Braves fans. She, Angela, played on several softball leagues. She was on several allstar teams. I remember playing during recess at Bluffton. Several girls, Ruthie Cunningham, Tanya McKee, Denise Dausey, Elsie Fry, there were several more. We played against the boys. It was something. We would beat them everytime. I never could get my best friend Barbara Kish to play. We still keep in touch. I really miss the people I went to school with and wonder how they are and what they are doing. Please let me know how you are. Take care and God Bless all of you.
