Pat's Story
Living in North Carolina (since 1984) is a pleasant situation after all those years in upstate New York! After college I found myself working at IBM in Endicott as a 6 month temp, with thoughts of teaching when I found "the right position." Fortunately, over time I grew to understand that I was already in the right position! Over 30 years I was afforded opportunities to work in several different fields, learn many new skills, live in several new communities, and travel with my job. I retired from IBM Retail Store Systems (think cash registers) several years back and am now very well occupied in living life pretty much one day at a time. I volunteer with a non-profit whose mission is improving the lives of women and girls. I have step-children living in western North Carolina and New Zealand, and five grandchildren. The oldest just completed his second year at LSU and the next oldest graduates this week from high school. Last July we all joined up ...Expand for more
for a "reunion" in the Seattle area - what a great time!
I have been blessed with a rewarding life, love, and much happiness. In fact, I was married in November of 2019, and now split my time between Raleigh and Belhaven, NC (on the Pungo River and the Intercoastal Waterway). I just opened a little retail boutique at the coast, a dream of mine for a long time.
We're weathering the pandemic safely so far, and I sincerely hope you are too. I play Words With Friends with Bonnie Sagan, and would be delighted to have any of you join in. She beats me regularly but I try to be tough!
By the way, just in case you're confused about when I was where in high school, I was part of the class of 1964 at Susquehanna Valley but moved in November of 1963. That's why I finished and graduated from Vestal -- but was probably better known by my classmates at SV. Not that I was all that outgoing when I was in high school.... I guess I've changed. (Haven't we all....)
