Pat's Story
Leaving BL, I headed to what's now Columbia International Univ (CBC to us then.) I needed time to "grow up!" After leaving Columbia, I moved west, through Denver (for a year) and then to BIOLA Univ, where I took NO Bible...!! There I just got my teaching credential and an "accredited degree in social sciences," and another BA. The best thing I found while at Biola was at my church’s college department -- Daphnelynn Jantz. She's stuck by me through thick and thin for 47+ yrs now, and is the best mom of our two kids, Matt Pat and Mindy Joy...and the best Grammy of our grandkids, Vaughn Patrick, Logan Dillon (Matt’s Kids) and (Mindy’s) Grace Elizabeth, and twins-Blake and Carter!
After college, I began teaching -- 8 years altogether -- in Anaheim and then San Diego, I completed my Masters at Point Loma Naz. Univ (then Pt. Loma College) while teaching, along with an Administ...Expand for more
rative Services Credential. Now I'm retired, after another 33 yrs as principal, Administrator, or Headmaster in Bakersfield, Yucaipa, San Diego and Long Beach. So 41 yrs in education.
The San Diego area was home to my Dad's family, while growing up in India, so I've always gravitated back there -- and Daphnelynn's parents even moved here from Whittier, where I'd met her at Calvary Baptist Church. So, now we've sold our home, put our belongings in a storage unit, and moved in with her folks as their care-givers here. Her mom moved into her mansion in Heaven last September, but we cared for her 94 yr old dad, until we got him into an assisted/independent living home in the San Diego area. So, now we've moved up to the LA area to help our daughter with her new preemie twin baby boys!
