Patricia's Story

Hello everyone! This is Patti Pickard-Poupore. I changed my name from Patti to Trish in the early 1980's. I am currently in the Upper Pemninsula of Michigan area. It will be nice to catch up with fellow classmates from 1980!!! Feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from anyone. I haven't lived there since 1983. I really enjoyed our 20th re-union. It was great to see all of you. Talk to you soon. I'll be updating my information soon. I'll be posting a current picture as well. Thanks to all who attended our 30th Roosevelt Class Reunion in October. I have a lifetime of memories from all of my old friends.... and new faces...! I HAD A BLAST!!!!!!! For those of you who couldn't make it, you were sorely missed. For those of you who were there in true Teddy Spirit... Thank you. I have posted pictures on my FB account. Under the name of Patricia Pickard. Feel free to contact me through FB or I have e-mail. Thanks again, Teddies, Nokomis Alumni, Minnehaha Elementary Alumni and St. Helena's Alumni. Trish Pickard-Poupore. I am divorcing,,, and my name will once again be PATRICIA (TRISH) PICKARD. I always wanted to be a Lawyer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a an awesome idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, and so was I.. With a cup of tea and a good movie or reading a good history book. My list of hero's......The Lord, Jesus Christ and God our Savior, gives me my day to day inspiration. My hero is my Father, William Robert Pickard and my Mother, Marilyn Pickard. Where I have lived????? just look at my FB map and you will see. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kathy O., because she love me, and I love her.. I'm obsessed with my dog, Bear. He is a German Shepherd and he is a Service Dog. He is my foundation right now within my own home. I love to watch Football, Hockey, Gymnastics, House, Bret Michaels 'life as I know it', CNN Headline news, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Mysteries, History Channel and our local PBS station. Just throw in a little popcorn and something to drink, and watch a good movie. My biggest surprise was at our 30th reunion.... It was from Leslie B. Thank you Leslie, you made my reunion the best for me. Kudo's and Thank you. Another surprise is that it's never too late to start over. I am obsessed with Snorkeling. It makes you feel as though you are swimming with the underworld. I finally, after years and years of trying, I was able to get an underwater picture of a Sea Turtle. :)-... and I have pictures to show for it. Thank you Mr. Turtle, it was a pleasure watching you do your thing underwater. :)>= My adopted child taught me that Life is not Fair. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel nothing and add on a lighting system in the back of my apartment.. My dream My current age is 47. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be looking a lot older...?. I was so completely happy to see my classmates at our 30th High School Reunion for Roosevelt.. My 1st crush...................He is alive and happily married and recently told me that he always wondered if I would be okay? Yes, ? I am okay. Thank you for the concern. It is going a long way, baby U.S. Navy------- AME... Jet Mechanic on FA18 A&B, F7, EA6A&B, and Harriers Plenty of Banking as well. High level administration positions. Federal Express: Regional Secretary for 3 states, 12 station managers, and 500 employees. Federal Express: The 1st Fully qualified Tractor Trailer driver with doubles and triples, hazmat and a few others for the State of Oklahoma for Federal Express. I currently hold all of my driving credentials, and always will. I was a Plant Manager for a Lumber Mill up here in the U.P. Unfortunately, that was a life altering position. My left arm got sucked into the planer, and my arm was crushed. After re-connective nerve and tissue surgery and years ...Expand for more
and years of rehabilitation still does not work appropriately. So, therefore, that was a life altering accident and a career ender. I cannot work any longer. I consider myself 'retired' while earning my own Social Security Disability from tmy own vested retirement account. My best friend would tell you I'm extremely strong willed and independent, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a loner. Love, love, love jeans and a hoodie. Don't let that fool you, I can dress for success as well. My wierdes job??? I worked with a group of Pathologists in Oklahoma. I assisted with Autopsies...yikes. I share my home with God and Bear, which I find rewarding. No, sorry but those medals and ribbons and trophies were destroyed in 1980. My memories of those items and victories will live on in my head and my heart forever. My biggest victory is winning the All-Around Competition for the Roosevelt Teddies. :)- One do-over??? hmmm. let me think... this has to be right. My one do-over would be that I wouldn't have moved to Denver, Colorado in September of 1981. Major do-over. However, I cannot hit that darned re-wind button, but I can live and learn from my experiences in Colorado. My next do-over, would be to not have married in Oklahoma. Big, Big, Big regret! Live and learn, right? In 10 years, I hope to be Alive and Healthy. I'm going to get there by living happy, healthy and walking with God in my heart.. My oldest friend (55) is Gail. She moved into the house next to my childhood house. She was a young mother and needed a babysitter for her son. That's how we met, and that's my story and I'm stickin' to it......:) We clicked because she understood where I was and what I was going through. And always has and always will be. The surprise at my 30th Reunion, was that people did remember me and I did remember them as well. People sought me out to tell me Hello. That alone was a great surprise. Thank you everyone who took the time out to say Hello to me. My 1st job was at the Mug & Brush in Minneapolis. I answered the phones, made appointments, washed towels, shampooed hair and did the bank drops for the business day. What I remember about that is, that Eddie Sr., gave Hubert Humphrey his final haircut just prior to HH passing. Rest in peace HH! My childhood memory would be roller skating with my Father and learing to do the Waltz on Roller Skates with him. My next favorite memories have to do with my Mother, Marilyn. My parents are my rock and inspiration now and forever more. I hope that my old friends remember me as outgoing, sarcastic and always smiling on the outside. My friends during my childhood hmmm, that would be Kathy, Sheila, Theresa, Donna, Susan, Keith, Steven, Martha L. and Mary M., and Gail H. Then, there is Gail. She lives in the Minneapolis area. She has my been my foundation and inspiration and strength throughout my life. She has given me wisdom to look beyond and continue forward. I've known her since I was 14, and our friendship has never been tainted in any manner! Hooray for Gail. MY OLDEST FRIEND would be God and Jesus Christ. They walk with me, then, now and forever more. Peace :)- I truely loved and lived for being a Gymnast, Dancer and choreographer. If I won $100 million, I'd give a large portion to the Animal Hunaine Society of the United States and then more of it to buy my dream home on the beach, then spend the rest on "buying a new butt, 'cause mine has a crack in it... (This is for Doug P), he will get it..., give a large sum to my Religious Affiliation and keep the rest for my retirement. And, I am coming home for good! I can hardly wait. Thank you friends for the welcoming committee. It is well appreciated and acknowledged. All will be fine, and I hope to see all of you when I arrive. Live with peace in your heart and in your life, it's quite rewarding!
