Patricia's Story
I grew up on Hart st. and went to Shirley ave elem. Then it was Sutter Jr. high, and then When I was at Cleveland I worked out with the boys gymnastics team and was a score keeper in '75-'76. I had horses and kept busy with them after school.I got out of HS a year early in '76 with the GED and went straight to NVOC's dental assistant program. There I met my husband and found I had a knack for working with tools in an orthodontic office, where I worked till I had my 2 great kids, a girl and a boy. I was lucky enough to be able to stay at home with them and do the PTA, soccer mom, classroom volunteer, neighborhood watch and have all the kids at my house after school ...Expand for more
to hang out.(someone's got to keep an eye on them...right?) I also found that my skills with tools helped me to make jewelry. mostly silver soldered, twisted, forged...yea, so this is what I was supposed to do when I grew up! Now I am working for a great orthodontist in Northridge, and making jewelry on my off days. Who would have thought that some of the offshoots on my path would lead me here ;) My Father passed away from cancer in '01 and he taught me to make the most of every single day, and I do! he would be proud. My mom remaried and lives in Castaic.I am the oldest of 4 to go to Cleveland. Brenda, Robyn & Robert (Bobby). They are all healthy and doing good.
