Patricia's Story
Life
I have been married for 38 years to Larry Cheek, a professional writer. We love to seakayak, sail, and hike. I am both an oncology nurse and a professional musician. I work for a private oncology clinic in the Seattle area. I played organ for many churches over the past years. I retired recently from my church position. We lived in Tucson, AZ for 23 years. My husband is a well-known writer in the Southwest and is architecture critic for the Seattle PI. He finished his book, The Year of the Boat, about building his 13 1/2 foot sailboat...Expand for more
. It's not a "how to" book but instead, a book about what he learned. The boat is called "Far from Perfect." The book is published by Sasquatch and will be released in May. We lived in the Seattle area for 12 years and this past week, we moved to Whidbey Island. I am still commuting to my job. We are having a new home built that will be ready on June 1. In the meantime, we are staying in a home by Saratoga Passage. We are gradually starting to decompress. We also love to travel. I would enjoy reconnecting with friends from previous years.
