Patricia's Story
Pets:4 cats (We just took in another runt who stole our hearts) and too many fish to even try to count.
Am taking a few years off from nursing to be a housewife and recupe from back surgery.
Plan on putting in another salsa garden and do some canning again this year. I work in my flower beds, swim, enjoy the two acres I live on with pine trees surrounding a lot of it and even remember to feed the birds and feral cats from the farm next door.
I take time out to meet friends for lunch/dinner, go see a flick, and have taken some trips to visit an old neighbor hood and school friend in Arizona a few times and enjoy horseback riding in the mountains there.
Love to cook, still enjoy horses, dogs, cats, bird watching, knitting, reading, archery, practice shooting, was teaching for the American Red Cross for a couple years, and volunteered at the Veteran's Facility for about 14 years.
I do have a tendency to get involved in feeding some feral kitties around here. My heart goes out to them.
I've kept busy and have actually run into a lot of old school chums throughout the years.
Have worked in private practices, hospitals, emergency medical facilities, etc. May go back to it and may not.
I had a needful but experimental reconstructive back surgery almost 2 years ago and am in a lot of pain which does limit what I'm able to do. But I'm not a person to give up easily. I'm a true fighter! I do what I can and still have a big heart.
I'd always said that I would become a nurse and followed through so I guess I've done what I had planned to accomplish. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it tur...Expand for more
ns out, they were right.
I also wanted to become a good cook....I did that as well. My two wishes came true....with a lot of work involved, of course, but it was really worth it in the long run.
So we'll see what the next new challenge will be.
My favorite way to relax is to be outdoors by the water.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was play hookie and get caught! Never did it again.
My hero is any man who has been in a war to fight for our freedom and to fight against terrorism.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a portion of it to charity(s), family, friends in need, invest enough to live comfortably on, travel, and spend some on my home and on myself...splurge a little.
To be truly happy, I would live in a warm climate, on a lake, have animals and be with family and good friends.
My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be Over the Hill. I was so completely incorrect.
My first crush....long story there. Oh, I guess there was one person who I loved from a very young age, but you know how that goes. Too young to understand what it was at that vulnerable age. Win a few and lose a few. We were very close and lost touch with one another.
Yeppers. I still dress like I did 10-20 years ago..in the yard it's either my bathing suit top and shorts or old blue jeans. (But I must admit, I do DRESS in dress clothing much more and positively LOVE IT!)
If I got one do-over: I'd know what I know right now at a MUCH younger age.
A childhood memory that I will never forget is how very close I was to my friends at such a very young age. We were all like one big happy family. Very close and caring for and about each other.
