Patricia's Story
Life
My life has been very full. I have 4 wonderful children 3 girls and a boy and 10 beautiful grandchildren 5 boys and 5 girls. I stayed home with the children being campfire leader, chairing PTA functions volunteering whatever, until my oldest went into college then I worked as a receptionist and worked my way up to manager of a facility of 300 people. In maintaining the facility I was involved in everything from maintenance to reserving travel, setting up conferences, oversaw the cafeteria, mail/copyroom any kind of corporate services. I thoroughly enjoyed my job. I had a staff of 6 employees that reported directly to me, so I learned how to delegate real well. nd did it good, just got burned out or maybe I should say working with husbands when you have worked in a corporation as the boss doesn't always turn out the best. Anyway I retired last August 2004 and have enjoyed my years of retirement immensely. I take road trips to see my children and grandchildren go to the art museum, art showings, theater, and I am an independent travel agent plus love to travel.
It is now August 2008, I have been separated for a year and moved to Indiana, 2 of my daughters live here (that means 6 grandchildren) my mother and brother have also move to Indiana. I have my own space and enjoying life.
Oops, I just read my profile and realized it needed a little updating. Jan 2009 my husband and I had an "intervention" and I moved back home, was it a good thing, still trying to decide however things seem to be going ok but I also need my space and I have been doing a lot of traveling. At 68 priorities are not the same as when you are younger and raising a family.
