Life
First off, I consider my cup half full rather than half empty. I'm a widow now, 11 + yrs. 2 grown daughters. 2 grown grandsons. Have travelled back to Van. frequently in the past but will not be as often in the future as my Mother is now deceased. I seem to be the only one left in the family. I've retired twice but still do work in a call centre. Usually from July to Jan. for a mail order company. (I like to think it keeps me young at heart & of course helps w/the cash flow) Not quite decided where my direction may be but whatever it is I'm sure it will be an adventure. Would like to hear from some of my HiY Teen club members (Miller twins, Annabelle Peterson, Martha Wilkins) members from 1952 to 1956 & year book staff for '55/56 (Sharon Clark,editor)...I can be found as pattilou twenty two, use numerals, at live dot com (I'm no longer a gold member) then please subject classmates. Still 'fixing it up' my new/smaller house and as always have many 'to do' things on my list. Right now tho' my small yard and potted plants along w/my two cats seem to keep me busy along w/my email friends & local 'doings'....give me a shout I'm right here....I drive ...Expand for more
a late model car, '97 Mercury Cougar; still like to bowl and still do some sewing & handiwork too. Needless to say I don't often have trouble falling to sleep at night...Weather here in the SE VA (Virginia Beach) is somewhat similar to Vancouver in regards to rain and snow but the summer months is another story.. If you follow the weather channel you'll see the area highlighted from Van. down to VA (VA is shaped like a triangle) & I am on the bottom right, the Southern tip of the Chesapeake Bay. However the summers can be brutal. So A/C is a must in the house as well as the car. Tourist Season is (May 30 thru Labour Day) and most 'locals' stay away from the strip or Oceanfront (Atl.Ocean) For my friends from the Northeast & west I always suggest a visit early May or after Labour Day for visits when humidity usually is more tolerable. (JUNE) is the annual Broadwalk show and the Jazz Festival. Then the Neptune Fest-events announces the return of the 'Strip' to local or year round residents in mid Sept...........
