Patricia's Story
I lived on the West side of Cleveland until I was 21. Schools I went to were:
Kentucky Elementary
William Dean Howells
West Tech High School
Jane Adams (for dental Asst.)
I worked or a little while until our 1st daughter came, then I was a stay at home Mom. 3 years later daughter number 2 came. We decided that it was more important for me to be at home than work, so we did without things for me to stay at home. When the girls got into high school I worked at the local drugstore for a few years (I loved it).
Are kids were sick with ear infections and strep ALOT..... my husband had aging parents so I help them, I helped my mom and dad... My mother had throat cancer 24 years ago she kept me busy. My mother inlaw had...Expand for more
terminal cancer they moved in with us until she died, then my father inlaw who was 80 moved in he was with us for 7 years, 5 years later my mom moved in (right after the girls moved out). Anyone who has taken care of elderly parents knows its not an easy job, and there is NO pay. I would do it again, all the parents are now gone, we miss them. Life is never the same once our parents are gone.
I have been a caregiver my whole adult life. I am glad I was able to help my family, I still think about how I should of gone to college and became a RN. But... I didn't, I have 2 beautiful daughters and a loving husband a nice home. Thats more than somehave. I have been blessed with good health. So I can't ask for more.
