Patricia's Story
Life
After graduating from Fort Lewis, Phil and I moved our family to Big Piney, Wyoming, and began our teaching careers.
After the girls were grown, we moved back to Durango and began a whole new life teaching on the Navajo Nation.
We have been teaching on the reservation for fifteen years and love it!
Andrea, our oldest, lives with her family in Florida (four boys and a hubby.)
Christina, our youngest, lives with her honey, Pete, in Oregon just down the road from Odessa Small. Christina and Pete were married a couple of years ago. Christina has been a teacher for ten years, but after a master's degree in dual sensory impairments -she feels that she needs to move up the ladder. She is now a Speech/Langua...Expand for more
ge Pathologist. She is a professional student with many degrees under her belt.
We still live in Durango, in my old house and enjoy spending our weekends there. Retirement isn't in our vocabulary so far...but who knows!
I am tired of all of the paperwork associated with the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND fiasco so maybe I'll just become a professional bookbinder since that has always been in the back of my mind! But...then...who needs books bound anymore???
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right.
My current age is over 30. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be in history books. I was so completely naive.
